The Groton Long Point Volunteer Fire Department (GLPVFD) was established in 1951. Functioning year-round, the Fire Department runs fire service and the basic Emergency medical services needs to the neighborhood it serves in the city of Groton, Connecticut. Groton Long Point Vol. Fire Department is one of five volunteer fire departments, in addition to the city of Groton Fire Department, in the city of Groton. History
Prior to 1951, fire protection for Groton Long Point was provided by the Noank Fire Department.
