Grootfontein Airport (IATA: GFY, ICAO: FYGF) is an airport serving Grootfontein, a city in the Otjozondjupa Region of Namibia. The airport is about 4 km (2 mi) south of the center of Grootfontein.[3] It was formerly a military air base for the South African Air Force.
Facilities
The airport resides at an elevation of 4,636 feet (1,413 m) above mean sea level. It has two asphalt paved runways: 08/26 measuring 3,560 by 45 metres (11,680 ft × 148 ft) and 17/35 measuring 1,040 m × 30 m (3,412 ft × 98 ft).[1]
