Greg Vanderjagt (born 24 April 1984) is an Australian professional basketball player who currently plays for the Townsville Crocodiles of the National Basketball League. He has also previously played for the Gold Coast Blaze.

Career

Vanderjagt, a 7'0" (213 cm) tall centre started his NBL career with the Townsville Crocodiles in 2004, averaging just 4 ppg and 2.6 rebounds over his 31 games. He stayed with the Crocs until the end of the 2007–08 NBL season playing 157 games and averaging 5.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and 0.7 assists per game.

After leaving the Crocodiles, Vanderjagt then played 9 games for the Gold Coast Blaze in 2008–09 where he averaged 11 points, 6.7 rebounds 0.3 blocks and 0.6 assists per game. He returned from injury to play the 2009–10 NBL season with the Blaze, playing 25 games and helping the team to the NBL semi-finals where they were knocked out by eventual champions Perth in two straight games.

Vanderjangt surprisingly wasn't offered an NBL contract following his 34 game stint with the Blaze and spent the 2010–11 NBL season without a team. When Townsville lost their starting centre and 2011 club MVP Luke Schenscher for the first 7 games of the 2011–12 season, the Crocs wasted no time in signing Vanderjagt as an injury replacement.[1] In his 7 games with the Crocodiles, which brought his career NBL total to 198 games, Vanderjagt averaged 5 points, 1.7 rebounds, 0.3 blocks and 0.1 assists per game, making such an impression on coach Paul Woolpert that he began replacing Ben Allen as starting centre.[2]

On 16 July 2013, Vanderjagt re-signed with the Crocodiles for the 2013–14 season.[3] On 29 July 2014, he re-signed with the Crocodiles for the 2014–15 season.[4]
