Greenville Memorial Hospital is a 710-bed tertiary referral hospital and academic center located at 701 Grove Road, Greenville, South Carolina. Greenville Memorial Hospital, the largest in South Carolina, serves as the regional referral center for the upstate area. It also serves as the flagship hospital for Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center, a not-for-profit academic health organization engaged in medical research and education. The hospital system provides health services for Greenville County and the surrounding areas. Its five campuses provide integrated healthcare to communities across Greenville County and additional areas through a tertiary referral and education center, community hospitals, a short-stay surgical hospital, a long term acute care hospital, nursing home, outpatient facilities and wellness centers.
The hospital is a member of the Planetree Alliance, a nonprofit association of health-care institutions intended to promote practices which do not intimidate or frighten patients receiving care.
