Green Wheat Field with Cypress (French: Champ de blé vert avec cyprès) is an oil on canvas painting by a Dutch post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. It was completed in 1889[1] and is based on Post-Impressionism style by use of landscape painting genre. The dimensions of the painting is 92.5 by 73.5 centimeters and is housed at National Gallery, Prague, Czech Republic.
Description
Van Gogh describes one of the paintings of this series as "I have a canvas of cypresses with some ears of wheat, some poppies, a blue sky like a piece of Scotch plaid; the former painted with a thick impasto and the wheat field in the sun, which represents the extreme heat, very thick too."[2]
