Grand Jamia Mosque, Karachi also known as Bahria Town Jamia Masjid Complex is a mosque under construction in Bahria Town, Karachi, Pakistan. When completed, it will be world's third largest mosque with a capacity of 800,000 people.[1] The complex also is planned to include an international Islamic university, modern Islamic culture centre, Islamic library, Islamic research centre and a museum. The mosque is being constructed on hilltop 60 ft (18 m) high with a single-monument minaret towering 325 ft (99 m).[2][3]

It is claimed to be a blend of Mughal, Persian and Turkish architecture.[4] The mosque is expected to be completed in 5 years. An area of 50 acres at the top of a 60 feet high hill has been selected so that the mosque will be visible from miles away. Further the mosque will be shielded from storms at that height. The complex will be powered by a dedicated thermal power station and will be surrounded by large gardens surrounded by arch-shaped walls on all four sides.[5][6]
