Grand Isle is a small unincorporated community within the Mississippi River delta, in Plaquemines, Louisiana, United States.
Geography
The town is only 5 feet (1.5 m) above sea level, and as a result, is prone to flooding. The population of the town is less than 50 people. It is located about 7 miles (11 km) east of Venice, and 68.8 miles (110.7 km) from New Orleans.[1] The nearest international airport is Louis Armstrong International Airport, 128.0 kilometres (79.5 mi) away in New Orleans.
