Grafton, Wiltshire

Grafton is a civil parish about 6 miles (9.7 km) southeast of Marlborough, Wiltshire, England. The parish includes the village of East Grafton and the hamlets of West Grafton, Marten, Wexcombe, Wilton and Wolfhall. The 2001 Census recorded a parish population of 604,[1] increasing to 686 at the 2011 census.[2]

Grafton and Burbage railway station was opened by the Swindon, Marlborough and Andover Railway in 1882 and closed by British Railways in 1961.

Local government

Grafton civil parish has an elected parish council. The parish is in the area of the Wiltshire Council unitary authority. Each council is responsible for different aspects of local government.
