Graeme Hendry

Graeme Hendry is a Scottish National Party politician and a councillor on Glasgow City Council for the Garscadden/Scotstounhill ward.

Graeme was first elected to the Council in the Scottish local elections, 2007 securing 2,333 first preferences and taking the second seat in the ward. After the elections he became the SNP Business Manager and a member of the Council's Executive Committee.[1] In 2000 he took out a Honours Degree in Politics from Glasgow University and in 2001 he gained a PG Dip Careers Guidance from Strathclyde University.[1]

In the Scottish local elections, 2012 he secured 1,820 first preferences and took the third seat in the ward exceeding the quota. After the elections at the SNP AGM he was elected as the new SNP Group Leader, replacing Cllr Alison Hunter, who had held the position from 2011-12.[2]

He lives in the Scotstoun area of Glasgow with his family.
