Grade Six Achievement Test

Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) is Jamaica's national high school entrance test. It is usually taken in March.[1] with the results are usually released in June. The GSAT replaced the UK's Common Entrance Examination in 1999.

There are 5 subjects, namely English (including comprehension), Social Studies, Science, Arithmetic and Communication Task. All subjects but Communication Task,Science and Social Studies (which has 60 questions) have 80 questions.

Choosing schools

The form for the GSAT Test choosing of schools in usually given out in September. The candidate is asked to give 5 high school choices and the reasons they wish to attend. Candidate are placed in a high school based on the grades they score.
