Government College of Engineering, Kalahandi (Oriya: ସରକାରୀ ଯାନ୍ତ୍ରିକ ମହାବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ, କଳାହାଣ୍ଡି) is the constituent college of Biju Patnaik University of Technology( Oriya: ବିଜୁ ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକ ବୈଷୟିକ ବିଶ୍ଵବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ) (BPUT), Odisha, Established in 2009.

Administration
GCEK is the constituent college of BPUT Biju Patnaik University of Technology. Odisha. It is established by an act of Government of Odisha in the year 2009 which is responsible for the overall superintendence, direction and control of its affairs. The Principal, Dr. Dulu Patnaik is responsible for managing the day-to-day affairs of the institute.
Location
GCEK is located at Bhawanipatna, the District Headquarters of Kalahandi. The exact location is Bandopala. It is situated besides the NATIONAL HIGHWAY NH 201, BARGARH- BORIGUMA, road which is just 5 km from Bhawanipatna towards Junagarh Road.
Academic structure
The college provides B.Tech. degree in four disciplines of engineering: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Computer Sc. and Engineering.
The B.E/B.Tech course duration is of 4 years. Each year shall be divided into two Semesters - Autumn Semester (July to December) and Spring Semester (January to June). The Autumn semester shall ordinarily begin in July for students already on rolls and the Spring semester shall ordinarily begin in January. However, the first semester (Autumn, for Newly admitted students) may begin a little later depending on completion of admission process and formalities.

The college has more than 60 computers which serve all the academic curriculum courses like C, C++, JAVA, etc. .

- QUASAR is annual magazine of GCEK.
- DESPEDIDA is the farewell party of MECHANICAL Branch.
Admission
B. Tech. admission to different under graduate degree is made only through a “Joint Entrance Examination” conducted each year by the Government of Odisha
Examination
- INTERNALS
There held 3 INTERNAL of (10-20) marks each for all theory papers on the dates specified by the College. A candidate shall clear a theory paper if he/ she secure minimum 12 marks out of total 30 in three class tests in theory subjects and minimum 25 marks out of 70 in End Semester Examination to be conducted by the University. In practical / sessional / seminar / laboratory / comprehensive viva-voce examinations the pass mark is 50 where full mark is 100 and 25 in a 50 full mark system.

The University will conduct end term Examination of 70 percentage point as per the academic calendar for eligible candidates.
