Government College of Engineering, Chandrapur (Marathi:शासकीय अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालय,चंद्रपुर) was established in 1996 and is the only government institute under Gondwana University.[1]

Accreditation

The college is approved by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). It is affiliated to Gondwana University.

Campus

The college is situated on Ballarpur Bypass road in Babupeth. The campus has a huge area of 63 Acres.

Admissions

The admissions to the college are governed by the DTE. The DTE holds the all Maharashtra State level MHT-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test), which is a compulsory examination to admission in engineering. From 2014, admissions are on the basis on score of JEE-Main.

Departments

The college offers degrees in the following six disciplines of engineering:

T&P Cell

Prof. B.B.Sul of Instrumentation Engg. Department is TPO of College currently. There several MNC visited college every year College for recruitment.

Near about 50+ students placed in Academic year 2014-15.

Cultural and Non Academic Activities

The students are also encouraged for sports, extracurricular, and co curricular activities. Organizing technical festival called Vis-a-Vis is a regular feature of the institute.

ABHI-RANG

Abhi-Rang is Cultural Event of the college which is held in the month of January every year. Students have demonstrated excellence in University sports.

Vis-a-Vis (Formerly 'Pursuit')

It is an annual National level Technical Festival (event) organized Gymkhana of GCOEC in the month of March of every year.
