GottaCon is the largest hobby game convention in Victoria, British Columbia, featuring a broad range of games, especially tabletop miniatures and videogames, for people to play.[1] It is run by a group of enthusiasts who are led by Evan Hatch and Carson Upton. These two have started the grassroots style convention back in 2009 along with another partner who has since left. This show is meant to be a gathering of local gaming enthusiasts under one roof and over time, it evolved into becoming a bigger showcase. It has become a venue for people far and wide to try new games and spend a day to play old favourites with new people.[2]
In 2014, the convention became a showcase for local video game companies to highlight their work, in cooperation with the Victoria Video Game CEO Alliance.[3] GottaCon 2015 is scheduled to happen February 27 through March 1, 2015, at Victoria Conference Centre at 720 Douglas St, Victoria, BC, Canada.[3]
