Goran "Majmun" Vuković (1959 in Belgrade, SFR Yugoslavia – 12 December 1994 in Belgrade, FR Yugoslavia) was a Serbian mobster and murderer.

Personal life

Vuković earned his nickname Majmun (literally translated into Monkey) due to his unique style of breaking into buildings: climbing and jumping balconies to enter a premises. Even though he spent a lot of time in Germany, he is regarded as a member of the Voždovac gang. Vuković drove a BMW 850CSi with German license plates. After returning to Belgrade in 1991, he survived five assassination attempts. Such attempts included the bombing of his car as well as two policemen trying to kill him. Due to this, he concluded that the Serbian secret police had a hit-list, and that Romeo Savić was murdered by said police. The reason for Romeo Savić's assassination (according to Vuković) is because Savić was openly talking about police drug dealers.

Murder of Ljuba Zemunac

Vuković is infamous for killing Ljubomir Magaš aka Ljuba Zemunac in Frankfurt, West Germany on 10 November 1986, in the front of the local court. Ljubomir Magaš was unofficially proclaimed as the godfather of Serbian organized crime at the time. Vuković received a prison sentence of 5 years for the crime. He later returned to Belgrade.

Murder of Dada Vujasinović

Vuković was mentioned in Ratko Mladić's personal diaries, in which Mladić wrote that Goran Vuković and Duško Malović were involved in the murder of the Serbian reporter Dada Vujasinović. Vujasinović criticized Belgrade criminals such as Željko Ražnatović Arkan for their criminal activities.

Death

When he got back to Belgrade, he survived five murder attempts before getting murdered in the city center in 1994. He was shot at twenty-five times with an automatic weapon, while inside his BMW 850CSi.
