Gorakhdham Express (Hindi: गोरखधाम एक्सप्रेस) is a daily Superfast train service, which runs between the cities of Gorakhpur and Hissar via New Delhi, India.

It is one of the first ISO 9002 certified trains of India to be introduced. because of its security features and high priority on the Indian Railways. The train is one of the fastest train in India with the top speed of 110 km/hr. The train commenced service in 1988. The train runs at an average speed of 70 km/hr, including halts and touches a top speed of 110 km/hr. The Name "Gorakh" Means Centenary in Guru Gorakshnath, & "Dham" Means Place, Which Together Means "Place Of Guru Gorakshnath" .

Accidents

In dense fog on 2 January 2010, the Gorakhdham Express and Prayagraj Express collided near the Panki railway station in Kanpur, about 60 miles (100 kilometers) southwest of Lucknow. Ten people died and about 51 were injured.[2]

On 26 May 2014, it rammed into a stationary goods train near Khalilabad station in Sant Kabir Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, on its way to Gorakhpur.[3] More than 40 people were killed and over 150 were injured.
