Gora Kabristan, Lahore
The Gora Kabristan or Gora Cemetery (Punjabi/Urdu: گورا قبرِستان) in Lahore, Pakistan is the one of the oldest Christian cemetery in Lahore.
Location
It is located adjutant to Taxali Gate of Lahore alongside now dried up bed of Ravi River known as Old Ravi
History
It was developed after establishment of British Raj in the Punjab Region as their primary Cemetery in Lahore .the name literally means the white graveyard.
Notable interments
Many notable personalities of British era and early Pakistani era are buried there, including
- A.R. Cornelius - Chief Justice
- Dr. A.C. Woolner - vice-chancellor of the University of Punjab (1928–1936)
- Princess Bamba Sophia Jindan Daleep Singh (1869–1957) - eldest daughter of Bamba Muller and Maharaja Duleep Singh, the last native monarch of Punjab; claimant to the title "Queen of the Punjab".
