Club career

Born in Burgos, Castile and León, Gonzalo made his debuts as a senior with lowly Peña Antonio José in 2003, moving to Segunda División B's Burgos CF a year later. On 15 July 2008 he moved to Real Oviedo, also in the third level.[1]

In July 2011 Gonzalo returned to Burgos,[2] appearing regularly but suffering relegation. He continued to appear in the third level in the following seasons, representing Caudal Deportivo[3] and Real Avilés.[4]

On 21 August 2014 Gonzalo signed a one-year deal with Albacete Balompié, freshly promoted to Segunda División.[5] Nine days later, aged 30, he played his first match as a professional, starting in a 1–1 away draw against CD Tenerife.[6]
