(On the vinyl version, there is a "locked groove" at the end of Side One on the song "Play in the Rain". This allows the closing section of the song to play continually.)

The title track, Go Insane, was written about his post-breakup relationship with former lover, Carol Ann Harris[1]

"D.W. Suite" was written for Dennis Wilson, who died the December before the album was released. Buckingham was always a big Beach Boys fan. Dennis Wilson was engaged to Christine McVie from 1978-1980.

The album was dedicated to former girlfriend, Carol Ann Harris, with whom he had just ended a relationship.
