Global Max Radio (formerly known as 103.5 Max FM) is a former Metro Manila FM radio station and is a current Internet radio station owned by Nelson Capulso. The main format is Dance music. This was previously heard on DWKX from June 2007 to August 2010. The station premiered on October 1, 2010.
History
On terrestrial radio
Max FM began broadcasting on June 19, 2007 when the brand's previous owners, Advanced Media Broadcasting System, rebranded the former Heart 1035 FM back into the contemporary hit radio format similar to its former flagship/sister station Magic 89.9. The new sound of 103.5 MHz presented a new format that sounds more mature akin to adult contemporary. The music covers both old and new hits with a new station name: 103.5 (initially read on air as one-oh-three and-a-half) MAX FM. Its slogan is "In Tune with Manila".
In mid-2009, the station's sound shifted to a predominantly dance format, with new slogans "Move To It!" and "Manila's Leading Dance Source," introduced to emphasize as such. DWKX's flip to Dance puts them in competition with DZUR, whose direction focuses mostly on pure underground club product, as opposed to DWKX's straight-ahead broader approach. In addition, DWKX also becomes the first fully licensed commercial Dance radio outlet to cover Metro Manila since the demise of 89 DMZ, whose frequency is currently occupied by DWKX's Rhythmic contemporary sister station Wave 891.
On June 19, 2010, right on the third anniversary of the station, and prior to that, it underwent some minor changes, among others the line-up of DJs and their shows, the revision of how they identify themselves on-air (they dropped the "one-oh-three and-a-half Max FM" in favor of "one-oh-three point five Max FM", as the former is said to be not that much suitable for radio), and the dropping of some of its long-running local programs and foreign syndicated dance programs.
On August 5, 2010, the jocks of Maxville made their final broadcast to give thanks to their listeners.
On Internet radio
On September 17, 2010, Max FM resurfaced as Global Max Radio, broadcasting non-stop online. On October 1, 2010, it launched its programs. Most of the old programming of Max FM is to be carried over to Global Max Radio.
