Glenn H. Gruenhagen (born February 1, 1952) is a Minnesota politician and member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, he represents District 18B, which includes portions of McLeod and Sibley counties in the south central part of the state. He is also a small business owner and insurance agent, owning Gruenhagen Insurance and Financial Services in Glencoe.[1][2]

Early life, education, and career

Gruenhagen was raised on a dairy farm near Glencoe. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He earned his Chartered Financial Consultant (Ch.F.C.) designation and his Charted Life Underwriter (C.L.U.) designation from The American College, a training institution for financial planners and insurance agents. Prior to running for the House, he served on the Glencoe-Silver Lake School Board for 16 years.[1][2]

Gruenhagen was first elected to the House in 2010, opting to run after incumbent Rep. Laura Brod decided not to seek re-election. He was re-elected in 2012.


Personal life

Gruenhagen and his wife live in rural Glencoe. They have three daughters.[1] He is a member of the American Legion and the Rotary Club.[2]
