Giriraj Singh(official Website Giriraj Singh ) is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician from Barahiya, Bihar, India. He is the BJP MP from the Nawada constituency in the 2014 Indian general election and a former minister in the cabinet of Nitish Kumar.
Early life
Giriraj Singh comes from a Bhumihar Brahmin or Brahmin Ayachak family.[1]
Political career
Singh served the Cabinet of Bihar as co-oprative minister from 2005-2010 & Animal Husbandry minister from 2010 to 2013. He has been a staunch supporter of Narendra Modi from the beginning. He publicly supported Modi for Prime Minister from long time. He was among the eleven BJP ministers who were dismissed by Nitish Kumar as a result of breaking of JDU-BJP alliance. He is a member of Bihar State Bharatiya Janata Party's 16-member state election committee.[2]

Burglary
On 8 July 2014 Giriraj Singh filed a complaint that his house had been burgled. The alleged burglar, a man called Dinesh Kumar, was caught with a suitcase packed with 600 US dollars, two gold chains, a pair of gold earrings, a gold locket, three gold rings, 14 silver coins, and seven luxury watches — all of which he said he had stolen from Singh’s home on Boring Road in west Patna. Singh however states that they only stole 50,000 rupees of cash plus other jewelry from his house. [4]
