Gideon Hixon

Gideon Cooley Hixon (March 26, 1826-September 23, 1892) was a Wisconsin politician and businessman.

Born in Roxbury, Vermont, he moved with his family to Massachusetts. In 1858 he went to La Crosse, Wisconsin and was in the lumber business. He served on the La Crosse Common Council. Hixon served in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1871-1872 and then the Wisconsin State Senate in 1873-1874.[1][2] His house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
