Giannutri (Italian pronunciation: [dʒanˈnuːtri]) is a small island in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Tuscany, Italy. It is the most southerly island of the Tuscan Archipelago and was known as Dianium by Romans and Artemisia, Αρτεμησία by Greeks.
Giannutri is also a frazione of the comune of Isola del Giglio in the Province of Grosseto.
National Park
The island and adjacent sea environs are within the Arcipelago Toscano National Park and marine sanctuary.[2]
The wild and rocky coast is interrupted by just two beaches, called the "Cala dello Spalmatoio" (on the north-east) and "Cala Maestra" (on the north-west). The island's features also include Maquis shrubland landscapes, and a Roman villa, Villa Domizia.
