Gianni Capaldi is a Scottish film and television actor as well as a film and television producer.[1]
Early life and education
He was born in 1975 Motherwell, Scotland to his parents, Tony and Maria. Capaldi grew up in the town of Hamilton and went to Hamilton College before continuing his education at Glasgow Caledonian University. Before he got into acting he played youth football with Motherwell. He is related to Scottish entertainers Jimmy Logan and Peter Capaldi.[1]
Career
Since 2005, Capaldi has appeared in at least nineteen films and at least one television production.[1] He has also served as a producer or assistant producer for at least four films.[1]
Acting
His first role was appearing as Sabastian in the comedy film All In (2005).[1] He has since moved on to act in and produce action and horror movies.
Capaldi's first major role, an English gangster called English, saw him star alongside Brian Austin Green, Michael Clarke Duncan, Vinnie Jones, Danny Trejo and Tom Sizemore in the action packed Sony picture movie Cross .[2]
Capaldi then starred alongside Morgan Freeman in the children's film, Wish Wizard, a film made in collaboration with the Make a Wish Foundation.[3] then in the paranormal moralistic drama, The Between, with Isabelle Fuhrman, Joel Courtney and Peter Bogdanovich.[1]
Capaldi teamed up with Jason Mewes for a Kick Ass style web series, called Vigilante Diaries, which will premiere at Cancon in 2013.
Capaldi also played the leading role in The Martini Shot with Oscar winner actor Mickey Rooney.
He then went on to star opposite Sienna Guillory, playing her husband, in the gothic horror thriller, Wicked Within, which screened in the market at Cannes this year. A paranormal movie filmed in Los Angeles with Sienna Guillory and Eric Roberts .[1][3]
Capaldi also had a role in Devil's Dozen, a horror feature directed by Jeremy London and starring C. Thomas Howell, Jake Busey, Jeremy London and Eric Roberts, which premiered at Graumann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood in 2013[4]
Since December 2012, Capaldi starred in a trio of action films directed by Giorgio Serafini. In Ambushed, (formerly known as Rush), a Voltage Picture released high adrenaline, action packed film, Capaldi portrays an uncontrollable Scottish gangster alongside Dolph Lundgren, Vinnie Jones and Randy Couture . Blood of Redemption, showcases the softer side of Capaldi as an American FBI agent, and brother to Billy Zane and nephew to Robert Davi, in a constant struggle to vindicate his fathers murder with Dolph Lundgren and Vinnie Jones, on opposite sides of the fence. Capaldi most recently wrapped production on, Certain Justice, a fast paced, action revenge tale, starring alongside martial arts specialist, Cung Le, Dolph Lundgren, Vinnie Jones and Briana Evigan.[1][5]
Recently Capaldi filmed a feature in Italy for a horror film about witches called Janara (2014) which sees him play an American priest in this Italian folk tale.[1] He continued with filming in Europe with a comedy set in Scotland with Greg Hemphill and Frankie Boyle in Gasping.[6] Capaldi also starred in Mickey Rooney's, last film Jeckyl and Hyde, where he teamed up with Margaret O'Brien and played the despicable Edward Hyde where.[1][6]
Recently Capaldi starred in BITE, a vampire movie set in Rome directed by Alberto Sciamma which also starred Vinnie Jones and Costas Mandylor. [1]

Personal life
He lives in the Hollywood neighbourhood of Los Angeles, California. He is an avid Glasgow Celtic fan and has a Bengal cat called Jackson.
