Ghislain Emmanuel
The Rt Rev Ghislain Elwyn Emmanuel was Bishop of Mauritius from 1972 to 1978. He was educated at King's College London and ordained in 1957.[1]
His first post was as a Curate at Vacaos after which he was Priest in charge at Rodrigues and then a Minor Canon at St James Cathedral Port Louis. Later he was Principal of St Paul’s Theological College, Mauritius and then Archdeacon of Mauritius. The first Mauritian Bishop of the Diocese,[2] he died after three months in office.[3]
