The Ghana Rugby football Union (GRFU) is the governing body for Rugby Union in Ghana and was established in 2005 and is yet to become a full member of the International Rugby Board.

History

The Ghana Rugby Football Union was established in 2005 by Gye Chaley who came from Cameroon to create the Ghana national rugby union team. The Team won their first match against Mauritania national rugby union team by 29–8. Since then the team has entered a number of Successful tournaments created by the CAR. As well As the National Team, the Union also boasts a number of Age Grade National Teams such as the National Under 18 Team and it also has a new and successful Womans team. All these Teams are funded by the CAR and receive help in the form of volunteers from various Gap year Companies.

The Body's Headquarters are in Accra and the Unions president is Gifty Annan-Myers who started off by Handling the finances of the GRFU and is now the president and in charge of getting the team matches and entering into tournaments.

National Teams

Ghana Boasts a number of National teams such as the National under 18, 15 and 12 teams.

Club Teams

Ghana Has a small number of club teams (mostly around the Accra Area) which play each other in friendly matches.
