Gestational thrombocytopenia
Gestational thrombocytopenia is a primarily benign condition of pregnancy of uncertain significance, believed to be related to idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.
There are 5 criteria:
- mild and asymptomatic thrombocytopenia
- no evidence of fetal thrombocytopenia
- development late in pregnancy
- no history of thrombocytopenia outside of pregnancy
- spontaneous resolution once the child is delivered
