Gert "Charly" Dörfel (born 18 September 1939 in Hamburg) is a retired German football player.[1] He spent nine seasons in the Bundesliga with Hamburger SV. He represented Germany 11 times, including at the 1962 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Northern Ireland (scoring two goals) and Greece (scoring one goal), the 1966 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Sweden, and eight friendlies.

His brother Bernd Dörfel also played for Germany.

After retiring as a footballer, he worked for many years as a clown with engagements at among others Circus Krone.
