Germán Bernácer Prize
The Germán Bernácer Prize has been awarded annually since 2001 to recognize economic research by European economists under 40. The prize is named for Germán Bernácer, an early Spanish macroeconomist.
The prize is awarded by the Observatorio del Banco Central Europeo ('Observatory of the European Central Bank'), an independent Spanish economic think tank. Current members of the prize committee are ECB Vice President Lucas Papademos, Jordi Galí, Francesco Giavazzi, Edward C. Prescott, Eduardo Schwarz, José Viñals, Charles Wyplosz, and Juan José Dolado.
