Gerard Barrett is an Irish filmmaker.[1] He came to prominence when he won the Rising Star Award at the 10th Irish Film & Television Awards for his debut, Pilgrim Hill.[2] His follow-up Glassland starred Jack Reynor as a young man who tries to help his mother (Toni Colette).[3]

In 2015, Barrett will shoot Brain on Fire, starring Dakota Fanning and Charlize Theron in New York and Canada.[1]

Barrett attended St Michael's College, Listowel.[1]
