Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation

The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation is an American philanthropic organization based in Morristown, New Jersey, which supports educational, cultural, social and environmental projects. In 2011, it donated $3.8 million to the arts and over $10 million overall.[1] According to one source, it is one of the "leading private supporters of the arts" in New Jersey.[2] It was created in 1973 with an $85 million bequest following the death of Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge. Dodge was the youngest child of Standard Oil tycoon William Rockefeller and Almira Geraldine Goodsell. Every other year, in even numbered years, the foundation sponsors the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival. It supported a national nonprofit that works to restore and revitalize music education programs in disadvantaged U.S. public schools called Little Kids Rock.[3]
