George Weatherill (politician)

George Weatherill (born 1936) is a former Australian politician, representing the Australian Labor Party in the South Australian Legislative Council from 1986 to 2000.[1]

Weatherill came from England's industrial north. In Australia, he stacked wool on Port Adelaide's wharves before becoming an official with the Australian Government Workers' Union (later the Miscellaneous Workers' Union). He is the father of Premier of South Australia Jay Weatherill.[2]
