Ronald George Stainton (10 June 1909 – 1965), known as George Stainton, was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League for Birmingham.[1] He played as a left back.

Stainton was born in the Bournville district of Birmingham. A schoolboy international for England, he joined First Division club Birmingham in 1927.[2] His promise as a junior failed to develop, and in five years with the club he played only once for the first team, on 1 October 1927 in a 1–1 draw at home to Bolton Wanderers.[3] He went on to play non-league football for Kings Heath, Worcester City and Shirley Town.[1]
