The fifth series of Geordie Shore, a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, began airing on 19 February 2013 on MTV. The series concluded on 16 April 2013 after 8 episodes and a special episode counting down the best bits from the series. This series was filmed in Newcastle upon Tyne with the cast visiting various locations around Europe, including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Prague and Tignes.

Storylines

One by one the cast of Geordie Shore return to the house in Newcastle just as Anna announces her new company Geordie Tours where she'll be sending them all to various locations around Europe to lead stag and hen parties. She tells everyone to pack their things because they're going to Amsterdam first. In Amsterdam, there's a clear atmosphere as James follows strict instructions from Kate to stay away from Holly. Ricci makes a fuss of Vicky on her birthday but is angry at his idea of a surprise being a romantic bike ride. Gaz and Scott realise they love their new job as they can work at the same time as getting drunk and pulling girls. Charlotte's confused when Gaz is all over her but she makes sure she rejects him. After getting far too drunk, they end up back in bed together. They soon regret it though the next morning as they return to the Newcastle house. Sophie meets Joel after a phone conversation ended up in an argument, but they work things out. A desperate Dan tries to prove that he can pull by kissing a girl from work but she's ridiculed by Scott and Gaz. Caring about their opinion more, Dan ditches the girl. Anna's not happy about Dan's latest stunt and punishes him, making him clean the mini-bus whilst the others head off go-karting. Kate tells James not to speak to Holly leaving her heartbroken, and Vicky sees her pain. Ricci and Vicky celebrate their one year anniversary in style as the single people in the house go speed dating. With Charlotte's ending in disaster, she goes all out to pull a boy and meets Graeme who asks her out on a date. On the date, Charlotte brings Holly along for Graeme's brother but it doesn't go very successful. At this point, Holly is unaware that James has asked Kate to join their group on a night out. Holly is upset when she meets everyone and sees that Kate is there and is even more heartbroken when James doesn't acknowledge her. A drunk Ricci gets into an argument with Vicky after calling her a name, and an angry Scott smashes up the house before getting into bed with Holly. Charlotte gives into temptation and has sex with Gaz but promises there's no feelings there. Holly and James are put in an awkward situation when Anna asks them both to work, and James tries to explain that him and Holly can't be friends. An emotional Vicky opens up to Scott and Charlotte about her doubts over Ricci, and Charlotte announces she's taking a break from pulling.

The next morning Anna calls and announces that the group will be going to Prague for the next part of their Geordie Tour. Whilst in Prague, Gaz and Charlotte go all out to stop each other from pulling. Gaz gets too drunk though and Charlotte's there to put him to bed. In a drunk state, Gaz tells Charlotte he loves her but she rejects him. The following day, with some away to work, Scott and Charlotte decide to explore Prague alone but end up in an absinth bar. Returning to the house, Gaz is clearly bothered by Charlotte and Scott spending so much time together. On the last night in Prague, Charlotte is confused by her feelings over Gaz as he continues to mess with her head, and Scott angers the girls after attempting to pull on family night. The tables turn though as Scott ends up in bed with Holly. When the group return to Newcastle, Charlotte is surprised as Graeme asks her out on a second date but she instantly accepts. Hitting the town, Vicky admits she'd like to get to know Kate better so James suggests a double date for him and Kate, and Vicky and Ricci. However the night turns into disaster when Dan and Scott fight over a ham sandwich. The following morning the girls plan for the next night, but when they all get a spray tan, it's obvious Ricci's not happy about Vicky getting naked in front of the others causing an argument between the couple. As Vicky decides she's had enough of being controlled, she leaves the house and ends the relationship. With Scott and Sophie taking Vicky and Ricci's place on the double date, Sophie interrogates Kate over James ignoring Holly and is surprised when Kate admits she's responsible. Kate then joins the group on a night out where her and Holly call a truce. The night quickly descends into chaos as another Charlotte and Gaz argument gets out of hand which causes Charlotte to throw a plate at Gaz and hit him with a lamp. Anna isn't happy the next morning and sends Charlotte packing. Ricci soon follows to get some space as Vicky returns to a note from him saying he's giving her some space, unaware that she's already decided there's no going back for them. The partying continues that night as Dan brings back a cougar, and Holly and Scott get carried away in the hot tub and end up in bed together.
