Geoglossum atropurpureum is a species of earthtongue fungus. It was originally described by August Batsch as Clavaria atropurpurea in 1783. Christian Hendrik Persoon transferred it to the genus Geoglossum in 1796. It is considered threatened in Europe.[2]
