Geet Sagar (born 24 February 1984) is the winner of India's inaugural season of X Factor (2011). The show was aired on Sony Television and was judged by Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal & Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Geet Sagar was mentored by Shreya Ghoshal in the show. He was announced the winner by Katrina Kaif, Ali Zafar & Imran Khan. As a prize he won Rs. 5 million, a car & an opportunity to sing in Karan Johar's movie.[1][2]
Family & life
Geet Sagar was born in Hissar, Haryana (India) on 24 February 1984. His father Mr. S.K. Shrivastava is retired from Indian Army & mother is a teacher. Sister Sangeet Sarita is two years younger. After his father's retirement from Indian Army the family is now settled in Gwalior.
He passed the 12th grade at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Gwalior and graduated from Madhav College in Hindi Literature, History and Music in Gwalior itself. He also studied in Journalism, Mass communication and Events management at Rai university(2004–05)and Mumbai university (2005–06), respectively.
Later he worked as a Radio Jockey for Lemon 91.9 FM in Gwalior from 2007 to 2009.
After winning X factor Geet Sagar now lives in Mumbai. He has been doing playback for movies. His Bollywood debut was given to him by Mikey McCleary as the title track "Draamebaaz" for the movie Nautanki Saala!. He has also been singing for TV commercials & jingles like Cinthol, GoIbibo.com, Parachute Tender Hair & Care, Garnier, Marvel Tea, among others.[3][4]
