Gianina Maria "Gee-Ann" Sta. Maria Abrahan (born November 6, 1985) is a Filipina actress and former reality show contestant. She came to prominence from her stint in the second season of Pinoy Big Brother, hailed as the 4th Big Placer, placing behind Wendy Valdez, Mickey Perz and season big winner Beatriz Saw.

Early life

Abrahan was born in Quezon City, Philippines. An alumna of Assumption College in San Lorenzo, Makati, she was part of the school's cheerleading team. She is a collector of voodoo dolls and stuffed toys since the age of six. During her stay in the Pinoy Big Brother House, she brought along the doll she owned the longest, a baby doll called Pamela which had been in her possession for 15 years. On Day 63 of the reality show, she gave Pamela away to an orphaned girl as part of a sacrifice and letting go.[1][2]

Pinoy Big Brother (season 2)

On June 30, 2007, the season finale, dubbed "The Big Night at the Big Dome" was held at the Araneta Coliseum, also known as the Big Dome. The housemates were transported by vintage cars on the way to the venue. During the program, the fourteen other housemates, as well as Tina Semolic from the Slovenian version, danced various Philippine dances and even the polka. Also present in the event were previous Pinoy Big Brother winners Nene Plamio (née Tamayo) of the first season, Keanna Reeves of the Celebrity Edition, and Kim Chiu of the Teen Edition, as well as Zanjoe Marudo of the Celebrity Edition, and Sam Milby of the first season.

Aside from the opening number, the only other huge number in the mostly formal and story-driven finale was the "final four housemates," played by Jon Santos as Mickey, Candy Pangilinan as Bea, Giselle Sanchez as Gee-Ann and R. S. Francisco as Wendy, engaging on a debate on who should be the winner.[8]

In the end, Beatriz was declared the winner, garnering 1,571,556 votes or 30.29% of total votes cast. Mickey came in second with 1,286,166 votes (24.79%), Wendy, visibly booed by the audience, came up third with 1,209,978 votes (23.32%), and Gee-Ann ended up last at 1,119,714 votes (21.58%). The total number of votes, which were amassed since the start of the open voting on June 17, 2007, broke all records held by all previous editions. For dramatic effect, Beatriz was brought into the stage in a giant disco ball.

Issue With Wendy Valdez

On Day 113, Gee-Ann heard the results of the informal survey conducted days before. Hearing Bruce and Wendy scornful remarks against her, Gee-Ann Abrahan revealed to Big Brother about her uneasiness and grievances against Wendy. To let her recover from her trauma she had experienced, Big Brother put her in the secret room with Mickey who did accompany her. But instead of calming down, Gee-Ann continued to tell Mickey about Wendy's remarks against her, even telling him that Wendy is "manipulating" the other housemates. Later, when Big Brother asked the housemates on who they think isn't fit to join the Final Four, most of the housemates answered Bruce and Wendy. This set off a chain of events that would change the relationship between the housemates: Wendy's sudden unwillingness to talk, Gee-Ann's further breakdown, and the rift between the three remaining females. On Day 115, the rift between Gee-Ann, Beatriz, and Wendy had already reached a crescendo to the point that everyone is not in speaking terms. Big Brother decided to intervene, telling the housemates that the "fake nomination" was just a test of friendship and they failed on that account. He also chided Gee-Ann about being as equally "unfair" as Wendy (Wendy was evicted, then returned; Gee-Ann received some "special treatment") and about belittling her achievements and Bruce for his full focus on Wendy. Although the men convinced the females to make up, Bea and Gee-Ann settled their differences with Wendy and the three ultimately reconciled. This was not however a full reconciliation as Wendy still had reservations.

Career

After her Pinoy Big Brother stint, Gee-Ann was cast in a lead role for the romance-fantasy series Love Spell in a multi-episodic story entitled Bumalaka, Bulalakaw, Boom alongside her PBB crushes Bodie Cruz and Mickey Perz.[3] She became a guest cast of various ABS-CBN television series, including the second installment of the Sineserye Presents: The Susan Roces Cinema Collection, Maligno alongside Kim Chiu and Claudine Barretto. In 2009, she was cast as Tammy Bernal in a supporting role in Habang May Buhay, with the comeback of the Judy Ann Santos-Gladys Reyes tandem.
