Gazole (community development block) (also spelt Gajol) is an administrative division in Malda Sadar subdivision of Malda district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Gazole police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is at Gazole. There is a Bengali Band named "NH34" in Gazole. Their website is nh34.tk.[1]

Geography

Gazole is located at 25°13′14″N 88°11′21″E / 25.2204800°N 88.1892700°E.

Gazole community development block has an area of 513.73 km2.[2]

The ruins of the historic city Pandua are located in Gazole block and also naturally growing a forest which called Adina Forest (It is a Deer Partk).

Gram panchayats

Gazole is an intermediate panchayat in Malda district. Village panchayats under it are – Alal, Babupur, Bairagachi I & II, Chaknagar, Deotala, Gazole I & II, Karkach, Majhra, Pandua, Raniganj I & II, Sahajadpur, and Salaidanga.[3] Gazole is a very beautiful village. Gazole will become a municitipality very soon. But the villages of Gajole particularly populated by Rajbangshi, Poliya Deshia and Santal are highly neglected because these communities are simple, honest and introvert.

Demographics

As per 2001 census, Gazole block has a total population of 294,749, out of which 150,337 were males and 144,412 were females. Habibpur block registered a population growth of 25.43 per cent during the 1991-2001 decade.[4] Decadal growth in West Bengal was 17.84 per cent.[5] Gajole is mostly populated by Rajbanshi community and Santal tribes. But they live in the villages. The proper Gajole area is populated by other castes. Presently very few family of these community have access to proper Gajole. It is a matter of concern. Because earlier history shows that Gajole was mainly populated by Rajbangshi and Santal but development has not reached to those people

NH34 Band

The Bengali Band NH34 started its journey in 2003. Then they had 6 Members but now five members are reunited like the five fingers of a hand. Right now they do not have albums, but are working on it and soon, going to record their very first one.

Mithun (vocal) along with Benu (Mriganka) started practicing. Then they found Subrata, who had a drum set. And then Sanjay, Narahari and Bapi da (Debabrata Roy). Bapi da is a wonderful drummer. So Subrata took the bass guitar and Bapi da took the drums. In 2006, after Gazole Utsav, Sanjay left the band. in 2008, Rajib got in to the Band. After a long time the band performed at Chanchal United Young's program. It was the night of Mahalaya. Rajib performed for the first time.

After that, Harischandrapur, Harirampur and so many places. In Harirampur, Debashis came to play bass. Pappu da (Durjay) and Ratul (Kumarjit) came to enrich them. After few more programs, Debashis left the band. he is now learning Keyboards. Bapi da also left the band. So Subrata is now playing the drums once again. In 2010 they got Sunnyram, a very good bassist. Chhotu (Satyajit) is also coming to practices and willing to learn bass.

Meanwhile, they are working on own albums. Raja and Rajib has written few songs. They hope that within a year they will be publishing their first album.
