Gaurav Nanda is an Indian films, TV and theatre actor known for his roles in Bandini (TV series) on NDTV Imagine, Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi On Sony, and presently for his role as Mr.Tandon in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus and as Anil in Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh on Life Ok.^[1] He is currently shooting for Film SHAB directed by Onir ,playing the role of Baljeet .The film is set to release in 2015. . He is also the founder of the theatre company Actor Studio India .

He specializes in method acting and theatre techniques such as Michael Chekov (Russia),Lee Strasberg (America), Jacques Lecoq Pedagogy (Paris), Stanislavski (Russia), Uta Hagen (America), and Sanford Meisner (America). ^[2] ^[3]

Early life

He studied telecommunication engineering at BMSCE Bangalore. In his first year of college he was selected in an All India talent hunt of MTV Serial Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi for Balaji Telefilms where he was selected among the top six applicants from thousands who came to try their luck in Bangalore.

He started his professional training as an actor and got involved in theatre and method acting training during his college days.

Training

His training as an actor was with Mr. Lalit Prakash who was the Head of Department of acting in the Asian Academy of Film & Television . After his graduation he was determined to go to Mumbai and to take up acting as a career, where he did a course at Whistling Woods International under Naseeruddin Shah .

Before he started to work as an actor on projects in Mumbai he already had more than eight years of professional training as an actor in theatre and acting. He got his first break in films while studying acting in Whistling Woods International in the film Sorry Bhai!. He also got a role in a mythological serial on Indian TV Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki By Balaji Telefilms.

He has been trained internationally by faculties of National School of Drama (NSD), Film and Television Institute of India(FTII), London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art(LAMDA) among others.
