Gateford Park Primary School is a community primary school in Worksop, Nottinghamshire in England.
History
Gateford Park Primary School opened on 28 February 2000 to serve the large new housing development of the same name in the village of Gateford to the north-west of the town of Worksop. It was officially opened by the Rt. Hon. David Blunkett MP, the UK Secretary of State for Education and Employment at the time. The school opened with 39 children on roll and grew to become a one-form entry school over the following years.
Organisation
The school's traditional catchment area covers the Gateford Park estate, although many children travel from surrounding villages and across Worksop to attend the school. Children are admitted in the September of the academic year in which their fifth birthday occurs. Pre-school provision for children aged 3 to 4 is provided on-site by Puddleducks Pre-School. The school is part of the Worksop Family of Schools and works closely with all Worksop primary schools and the Outwood Academy secondary schools.
The school teaches the Early Years Curriculum for children in the Foundation Stage and the English National Curriculum for children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Awards and Academic Standards
The school was judged to be 'Good' by Ofsted in its most recent inspection in January 2011. [1]
The school has been awarded the Quality Mark for Extended Services (2009), the International Schools Award (2012) and the Healthy Schools Award (2012).
The school league tables (2012) show the school in the top 20% of all English primary schools for children's progress. [2]
