Gary R. Johnson
Gary R. Johnson is a scholar who writes about the origins of government and politics and the evolutionary roots of patriotism. He is the current president of the Michigan Council of Political Scientists,[1] a former editor of the journal Politics and the Life Sciences (1991-2001), and has served as executive director of the Association for Politics and the Life Sciences (1996 to 2001).[2] Johnson received his Bachelor of Arts degree (1972) from Augustama College and Masters of Arts (1975) and PhD (1979) degrees from the University of Cincinnati. He teaches at Lake Superior State University, where he is a professor of political science.[3] Gary is also known as one of the most stimulating professors LSSU has ever seen, and has been known to engage in friendly trash talk over highly competitive volleyball matches with his students. Occasionally known as "Fearless Leader" and "Protectorate of the Laker Legion", his passion lies with the students of Lake Superior State University whom he has admirably served for 37 years.
