In 2000, Sutton was selected by Robert Kiyosaki to be a Rich Dad Advisor for asset protection and corporate strategies.[2] Sutton was tasked with writing about legal topics for the layman - meaning clearly written books that anyone could understand. Reviews

Sutton's work has received numerous positive reviews.[3] Pacific Book Review selected "Loopholes of Real Estate" as the Best Business Book of 2014. The reviewer stated ″This is an excellent book for those looking to invest in real estate - the information contained in this book does well to clarify the do's and dont's and loopholes and I heartily recommend this book as a must read for anyone interested in real estate on any level. Whether you're buying your first home, or adding another multi-unit apartment complex to your vast real estate portfolio, Garrett Sutton's book is a fantastic overview of the "nuts and bolts" of buying, owning and selling real estate".[4]

The Kirkus Reviews for "Run Your Own Corporation" states, "Accomplished Attorney and author Sutton (Start Your Own Corporation, 2012, etc) presents a second volume on how to build a well-protected business from the ground up. Part survival guide, part cautionary tale, a volume in which every aspiring entrepreneur should invest"[5]

In reviewing "Writing Winning Business Plans", the Kirkus Review wrote: "Sutton (Start Your Own Corporation, 2012) provides a handbook for entrepreneurs on the secrets behind successful business plans. The author writes with authority, giving concrete reasons behind each section of a plan, but offers plenty of encouragement along the way, motivating readers to undertake what is essentially a soul-searching exercise as well as a financial one. Sutton is also objective and truthful when highlighting the pitfalls that entrepreneurs may encounter. A wide-ranging, detailed primer for potential entrepreneurs".[6]

"Loopholes of Real Estate" was also chosen as a finalist for Foreword Reviews' 2013 INDIEFAB Book of the Year Award in the business and economics category.[7]

In a review from Publisher's Weekly, "Loopholes of Real Estate" is described as "more of an educational resource than a guide. The book is practical in its sincerity toward smart investing and, as a result, the first step toward successful investing."[8]

Children's book

Sutton has also written one children's book under the name G.Z. Sutton[9] titled "Santa Dog: The Incredible Adventures of Santa and Denby", it was selected as the December 2014 Book of The Month by Pacific Book Review. Their synopsis of this book is: "when abandoned golden retriever Denby is rescued by Santa in the Nevada desert on Christmas Eve, he knows he has found the perfect family. But over the months between one Christmas and the next, Denby finds himself again and again doing what he has been told not to. Is it magic? Are his actions somehow tied to the injury he had when Santa found him? Or is he just a bad dog? With the help of a reindeer, some elves, and Santa himself, Denby finds that solving his own mystery could also mean saving Christmas."[10]
