Gareth Armstrong is a junior footballer currently playing for Troon Juniors in the 2nd division of Ayrshire Junior Football.He was forced to drop down to Junior football after failing to make the grade in the senior ranks with Ayr United.With Troon Juniors he struggled at centre back and has since been switched to the full back position.Troon management have been concerned about the number of goals conceded down the right hand side of defence.His position is currently under review

Ayr United

A member of Ayr United's football academy,[1] Armstrong made his first team debut in the Scottish Second Division as a substitute on 7 May 2011 against Brechin City F.C. at Glebe Park.[2] Ayr United won promotion via the play offs[3] and he made his Scottish First Division debut on the opening day of the 2011–12 season.[4]
