Garcinia thwaitesii is a species of flowering plant in the Clusiaceae family. It is found only in Sri Lanka.
Chemistry
The petrol and methanol extracts of the bark and timber of Garcinia thwaitesii have been investigated. In addition to β-amyrin and tirucallol, four biflavonoids and a new xanthone, 2,5-dihydroxy-1,6-dimethoxyxanthone have been isolated and characterized.
