Gao Xiaosong (born 1969) is a Chinese-language composer, songwriter, music producer, director, and "Campus Folk" representative.[1][2]
Career
1969 Born into a family of senior intellectuals[3]
- 1988 Graduated from Beijing No.4 High School[3]
- 1991 Dropped out of Qinghua University and attended the preparatory course for postgraduate study of film directing in Beijing Film Academy[3]
- 1992 Postgraduate study of film directing in Beijing Film Academy but was not successful.[3]
- 1993 Issued debut album Collegiate Ballads 1, which won almost all the prizes of pop music that year. In the years that followed, worked as a composer of both music and lyrics, sometimes the producer.[3]
- 1994-1996 Issued a collection of his musical works Youth with No Regret. Later that year, successfully held a concert of his own music at Wutaishan Stadium in Nanjing[3]
- 1997-1998 Completed novel Face on the Wall, scenario Where Have All the Flowers Gone and some other literature[3]
- 1999 Director and music composer of expressionist film Where Have All the Flowers Gone[3]
- Mar 2006 Han Han and Bai Ye involved in the debate on blog. Gao also entered the debate but at the end Gao shut down his blog[4]

Music
In 1994, Gao Xiaosong recorded "Collegiate Ballads 1" into the Chinese music industry. Gao Xiaosong's work included "On the Same Page as You." Published in 1996, "Youth of No Regrets" was his major accomplishment of bringing China's original music which media praised.[5]
His last album is called "Love Letters".

Gao Xiaosong has worked with Liu Huan, Na Ying, Xie Xiaodong, Steven Ma, and many other singers.
Personal life
Gao was detained on 9 May 2011 by Beijing police on drunk driving charges and was sentenced 6 months in jail . His judge seat in China's Got Talent (series 2) was then replaced by Taiwanese music composer Antonio Chen.[6][7]
