Gangsters contra charros (in English Gangsters against charros) is a 1948 Gangster film written, directed by, and starring Juan Orol, and featuring Rosa Carmina and José Pulído. However, it has become a cult film due to its low-budget production values and idiosyncratic style.
Plot
The Gangster Johnny Carmenta (Juan Orol), faces Pancho Dominguez El Charro del Arrabal (Jose Pulido), who has imposed his law in the town. The Rumbera Rosa (Rosa Carmina) seduces both men firing their rivalry.

Legacy
It has been compared to Juan Orol with the American filmmaker Ed Wood, canonized as "the worst director of all time". Orol not need a posthumous tribute to be recognized. He was a successful at the box office of his time. The public admired his muses and his evil gangsters, no matter the story and technical poverty of their productions, ignoring criticism that vilified his work.[1]
According to the opinion of specialist critics of Mexican cinema, the film ranks as number 68 among the hundred best films of the Mexican cinema.[2]
