Ganaur is a city and a municipal committee in Sonipat district in the state of Haryana, India.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Ganaur had a population of 29,005. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Ganaur has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 59%. In Ganaur, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age. Co-ordinates -> 29.131768, 77.011662 are for the main ganaur mandi railway station. Tyagi Brahman (Bhardwaj) are the main landlord community of Ganaur who set up this town over a millennium ago.

Geography
Ganaur is located 44 km north of the National Capital, New Delhi, and is on the National Highway 1 (Delhi - Amristar).It is also known as Ganaur Mandi as it was used to be a warehouse and grain market for the villagers who used to go sell their goods to Delhi via Ganaur Station.
