Old Galion High Schools

The first Galion Union High School was built in 1868 on the site of the former Galion Jr. High on West Walnut St. This building was demolished in 1924 and the new Junior High was built on the site in 1925. The 1925 Junior High was demolished in April 2008 and now an empty lot is all that is left of those two buildings. A second building was built in 1917 on the site of a former cemetery on North Union St. This building was extended in 1962 adding features such as a very large gymnasium. This building was in use until the 2006-2007 school year, the new Galion High School in fall 2007.

The second Galion High School built in 1917, replaced in 2007, and demolished in summer 2008.
