Galashiels railway station is to serve the town of Galashiels, Scottish Borders, Scotland. It is to be reopened on 6 September 2015[1] as part of the Waverley Line, a project to run between Edinburgh and Tweedbank, a village on the outskirts of Galashiels.
The original station was closed by British Rail in 1969, along with the rest of the Waverley Line. The new construction work is being undertaken by BAM Nuttall on behalf of Network Rail and Transport Scotland. The new station is expected to open on 6 September 2015; it is located slightly to the north of the original station.[2] The new construction work is being undertaken by BAM Nuttall on behalf of Network Rail and Transport Scotland.
