Gakkō Gurashi! (がっこうぐらし!, lit. "Living at School!"), or School-Live!, is a Japanese manga series written by Nitroplus' Norimitsu Kaihō and illustrated by Sadoru Chiba. The series began serialization in the July 2012 issue of Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Forward magazine. An anime adaptation by Lerche will begin airing in Summer 2015.

Plot

Yuki Takeya is a cheerful school girl who is a member of her school's "Campus Life Club" (学園生活部 Gakuen Seikatsu Bu), alongside her friends Kurumi Ebisugawa and Yūri Wakasa. Yuki seeks out fun school activities every day whilst Kurumi and Yūri protect her, because in reality, they are the sole survivors of their school after a zombie outbreak overruns the city.

Yuki Takeya (丈槍 由紀 Takeya Yuki)
Voiced by: Inori Minase
The main heroine, a bright and cheerful girl who is always excited to try new and exciting club activities. She creates an 'illusion' (or to her, more precisely delusion) that the school is the same as always and there are no zombies, as a self-defense mechanism after she suffered from mental breakdown from Megumi's sacrifice. Slowly, she realizes the truth of her surroundings, but still acts oblivious. But, in cases of which she is attacked by the zombies, her 'illusion' will breaks down and she will panic.
Kurumi Ebisuzawa (恵飛須沢 胡桃 Ebisuzawa Kurumi)
Voiced by: Ari Ozawa
A twin-tailed member of the Campus Life Club, who is often sent out on the more dangerous missions. She carries a shovel around with her at all times in case of zombie encounters. She becomes infected after being bitten on the right arm by the zombified Megumi, but is seemingly cured by an antidote.
Yūri Wakasa (若狭 悠里 Wakasa Yūri)
Voiced by: M.A.O
The president of the Campus Life Club, nicknamed "Rī-san". She is the one who manages food, electricity, lessons, and so on. Even though she acts as a strong girl and big sister for the other members, she is mentally fragile.
Miki Naoki (直樹 美紀 Naoki Miki)
Voiced by: Rie Takahashi
A blonde-haired girl who the Campus Life Club rescue whilst scouting a shopping mall. At first, she hated the way Kurumi and Yuri just accepted Yuki's illusions, but later came to understand them. She also became kind and soft, opening her true self to other members. She is especially close to Yuki.
Megumi Sakura (佐倉 慈 Sakura Megumi)
A teacher and the adviser for the Campus Life Club who is affectionately called "Megu-" by her students. In acting as bait to save the club members, she becomes infected and turns into a zombie, which is eventually put down by Miki, though Yuki continues to believe she is alive and well through her illusions.

Gakkō Gurashi! is written by Nitroplus' Norimitsu Kaihō and illustrated by Sadoru Chiba. It began serialization in the July 2012 issue of Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Forward magazine. Houbunsha published the first tankōbon volume on December 12, 2012, with four volumes released as of July 11, 2014.[2]

Anime

An anime television series was announced on June 21, 2014.[1] The series is being directed by Masaomi Ando at Lerche, with scripts by manga writer Norimitsu Kaihō and character design by Haruko Iikuza. The series will begin airing in Summer 2015.[3]
